Hardy Yuzu citrus plants for sale in Sidney, British Columbia for sale

These hardy yuzu are the most popular of the acid citrus used in food preparation in east asia. A tart citrus with aromatic zest often used in Japanese and Korean (where it is known as Yuja) cuisine. The juice is used as a seasoning, similar to the way a lemon is used in other cuisines. The oil from its skin is marketed as a fragrance. In Japan the fruit is sometimes used in a bath, the yuzuyu or yuzuburo - whole fruits are floated in the hot water of the bath, releasing its aroma.
They can be grown outdoors year round in our Vancouver Island climate, but grow better if brought indoors or protected for the coldest part of winter.
We have a few small yuzu plants for sale. Some are flowering already, but you should remove the fruit the first year so they can use their energy to grow. Also, bring them indoors at least the first year so they have an opportunity to harden.
